"Ultimately, we become aware of most of what is going on within us mainly through the muscles."

                                          -Moshe Feldenkrais

Manual Therapy is an important aspect of healing. So much so, I decided my energy practice could not continue without the grounding presence it provides. Clearing the tension in our bodies clears way for better thinking. I am a strong believer of regular maintenance to our beautifully complex machine.

Just like my energy practice, my massage practice is very intuitive. I sift and blend all my bodywork techniques to address the priority. I often use Manual Therapy as a supplement to my Emotion Code Therapy when needed. If you are ready to understand your body on a deeper level, I look forward to hearing fom you.

Shiatsu

A relaxing, yet invigorating, Eastern style of massage. Traditionally done fully clothed on a floor mat but can easily be transfered to a table. I love using the rhythmical compression that is so soothing, the pressure points for deep muscle tension, rocking and shaking to loosen fascia, stretches and passive range of motion to lubricate joints, and the famous percussive karate chops we all love down our back and on our feet. If you have never tried Shiatsu, I highly recommend it!

Swedish

Our Western culture's most famous massage, received unclothed under warm sheets with soothing oil or lotion to hydrate and nourish the skin. The long strokes improve circulation, friction circles break up those crunchy adhesions, and kneading softens those ropey muscles. Swedish is wonderful for general well-being and self-care maintenance. It is also a great way to take inventory of your body, a full-body treatment will make you aware of all the spots you didn't know needed attention!

Deep Tissue

This is one of my favorite techniques to release muscle tension. Using slow, firm pressure we wait for muscle fibers to release allowing access to our deepest held tension. By holding constant pressure on trigger points, the muscle loses its neuromuscular signal to contract resulting in a melting sensation sometimes preluded by twitching. This modality is associated with the "good hurt" we all enjoy so much!

Acupressure

In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is believed that stimulating key points along meridian lines can create positive benefits for the whole system. For thousands of years it has been used to boost the immune system, relieve pain, resolve colds, enhance skin beauty, and aid emotional releases. Unlike Acupuncture, there are no needles involved. Gentle to firm finger pressure is used to tap into the extraordinary healing abilities of the body.

Touch For Health

Touch for Health is a gentle way to assess which energy systems of the body need attention. By performing functional muscle tests associated to meridian lines, we can see which meridians are depleted or over-energized. Manipulating neurolymphatic points or holding acupressure points can rebalance the energy systems quickly and effectively. It can be a great solution for fatigue and adds deeper insight into larger patterns of the body.
